Something in the universe was speaking to me last week and when in Christchurch, after visiting lovely Tipi at Where The Fox Lives, all the stars had aligned and I found myself outside a wee shop/ slice of heaven called J'aime les macarons
A romance was begun and if flavours suchas rose, bitter chocolate, sour cherry & champagne, salt butter and caramel, among a host of others, make your tastebuds water then you've come to the right place. They also fly mixed boxes up to Moore Wilsons, Wellington on Fridays & Saturdays (saviour!!)
This is a secret desire once you try you just have to share with those you love so treat yourself this weekend-go on:)
The WINTER SALE has been been going great (promoted by our wonderful owl art window created by the talented Miss Phoebe!) and don't despair if you haven't got to emma yet, there's still plenty of styles and bargains available.
Just to make things even easier for you...our opening hours have now extended!!

Thanks to my trusty helpers, Phoebe and Bella, emma enjoyed another great Fabricabrac.
Although I could only be there to set up I felt our collection of fabric gems was in good hands and with the occasional mandatory cupcake break some great bargains were had and much inspiration shared.
There are so many treasures you have to watch you don't leave with more than you arrive with but I was immediately seduced by this delectable swan/water lily doilly at the table opposite. I don't know yet what I'll eventually make with it but for now it's being ever so pretty helping display brooches on my cabinet at emma.

A few new items have hit the racks at emma to help keep those winter chills away!
The Popette reversible skirt comes in chocolate or grey marle merino wool/modal one side and when flipped becomes a cute stripe skirt. The name says it all, it is totally reversible-got to love those two for one pieces.
We've also stocked up on some scrummy neck wrap/scarves to add a bit of zing to your winter gear - woolly, stripe, merino, red, orange, green-it's a great easy update.
And not to forget the new emma staple the long line terese tank top in merino wool. It's comfy, cosy and so handy to add layer upon layer, upon layer....

Just had to show you the latest members of the emma (OWL) family.
Tea-cosy owl has haunted me for the last couple of months and finally I found one of my own-it's peaceful now and very nice to have settled home on my shelves:)
Then my dear friend Emma (yes, jinks!) sent me this ever so lovely print from Hobart of a very wonderful owl to grace my workroom/shop wall. So perfect, thank you. I haven't had it framed yet, as can't bear to let it fly away for long, but will soon , promise.
What is it about owls that makes us love them so?

It's all the fun of the fair and it's all about fabric (+buttons, vintage notions, trims, patterns etc...)
How good is that!
There hasn't been a Fabricabrac for awhile so you know they'll be loads of treasures to discover and make your own. They've even got someone on-site to sharpen scissors so bring yours along and they'll be no excuse not to get creatively cutting!
emma's got a table booked and we're busy digging up some choice cuts to tempt and inspire you clever clogs out there:)
Don't forget it's a new venue!
St.Anne's Hall, Emmett St, Newtown.
Saturday 19th June 9-noon.
Yep, it's raining again in the Capital but this does give you the perfect excuse to get comfy inside and get those crafty fingers working. As we know sometimes a little helping hand is needed to get you started and Ruby in the Dust have come to the rescue.
emma now stocks these cute felt craft kits with everything you need to make six beautiful birds or hearts, tweet!! It's a great gift and perfect for any friends, young and old, just starting out in their journey into the fabulous world of craft:)

Have just put some new winter stock into emma which I call my 'slinkies'.
They're made of a lovely viscose that hangs and drapes beautifully. Each piece has an easy fit, which makes them super comfy, while still having a dressy edge.
Celeste tunic top, skirt and dress are all instore now and come in black or midnight blue.
Perfect for a treat night out:)
Sunday, May 2, 2010
Of course there is and looking 'tres chic'.
The brigette batwing top is my merino wool winter '10 version of the fav summer number you might well own and is instore now.
There's also very snuggly cotton/spandex velveteen veronique trousers or boot shorts.
They are a brilliant more tailored sub for leggings but just as comfy-mmm...
Also if you haven't twigged already emma is now on Facebook
You can check out the whole emma winter collection pics there too:)

I've been looking for another nana rug for quite awhile, to keep your tootsies warm in the changing room, and thought it was a lost cause but yippee-doo found this lovely one on Trade Me.
Made from beautiful floral vintage carpet, which even matches the large nana rug already instore, and clever Mandy has shaped it into a tiki which I think is pretty cute.
You can contact her on email@example.com if you want to know more or just come into emma and admire her handiwork!
Being in the middle of 'redesigning' my website (with the talented help of the lovely Anna Stewart) my updating of the winter collection pics has been somewhat delayed-sorry:)
Thought I'd post them on here over the next few days so you can have a look-see at what's hitting the stores over the next few weeks.
The collection is called elle voyage and my inspiration whirled with thoughts of travelling, near and far, real and imaginary, whilst listening to French songbird Melanie Pain.
So a wee bit of French seduction has helped create this range and there's cosy and chic new numbers to ease you into autumn and beyond!
Hope you like,emx

After a fun day spent visiting my lovely stockist 'Live like Lola' in Blenheim (and squeezing in some valuable op-shopping time:) I was really pleased to come home with a new addition to the nana lounge.
emma is now the exclusive Wellington stockist of some fantastic, fun, form-fitting knickers
You may have spotted them at the Nelson Market, as they're a real fav with shoppers down there, and well-known for their great fit.
Two cool boy-leg cuts (one a half brief, the other a full) all in cotton/lycra and fancy but not frilly colours.
We chosen some of the more vintage-look combos for emma, here take a peek...
